New Delhi: While granting bail to a person in a family dispute related to land, Judicial Magistrate Rohit Kumar of Rohini (North) District Court of Delhi has written on the importance of relationships. He has written this poem in human context.
The Magistrate wrote-
Who knows how many stories happened in the war of property,
Only a few were our own, they too have now become strangers.
Now someone will have to come as Krishna,
Will have to save the rotting, fighting, deteriorating relationships.
Who knows how many more Mahabharatas this war will bring,
After all, how many will it take behind bars.
Becoming a daughter, relationships will have to be saved,
All relationships will have to be maintained.
What is there in this war, will anyone tell,
After all, who will take what from this earth.
Started the order with a poem named ‘Jung e Milkiyat’
When Delhi’s Rohini Court Magistrate Rohit Kumar started his order with his poem named ‘Jung e Milkiyat’, he put the legal process in a deep human context. His poem touches the bitter reality of increasing family disputes over land and property, where property fights make the soil of relationships barren.
There are many poignant things in this poem. Judge Rohit Kumar not only saw the law, but also felt the pain of broken relationships which often remains hidden behind words in the courts. This order reminds that the purpose of justice is not only to resolve disputes, but also to give a better direction to the society.
