These people including Rajveer were sent to jail

The Inspector in charge of Kotwali police station had registered a case under the Gangster Act against Rajveer, Manoj Yadav, Pravesh Yadav and Bhola, residents of Nagla Bhaant village, on 31 August 2008. The police registered Rajveer’s name instead of Ramveer

According to the officials, the real accused in this case was Rajveer’s brother Ramveer, but the police had registered the name of ‘Rajveer’ instead of ‘Ramveer’. Rajveer’s lawyer Vinod Kumar Yadav said, “My client kept pleading that he had no criminal record, but nobody listened to him. He was arrested, kept in jail for 22 days before getting bail and then he was left to fight the system alone.”

BAccording to lawyer Vinod Kumar Yadav, Rajveer got bail after spending 22 days in jail, but he had to make rounds of courts from Mainpuri to Agra (where the case was transferred in 2012) to bring out the truth.

Rajveer works as an agricultural labourer

He said that over the years Rajveer attended about 300 court hearings. Yadav said, “Rajveer could hardly pay attention to his family. He had the responsibility of marrying off his two daughters, one of whom is disabled. His son Gaurav had to leave school and now works as an agricultural labourer.”

He had to face troubles due to police’s mistake
He said that Rajveer had to face these troubles not because of himself but because of police’s mistake. According to Yadav, Rajveer finally got relief on July 24, when Special Judge Swapan Deep Singhal passed a strict order acquitting him.
