A shocking incident has come to light from the Montha police station area of Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. Employees of a private bank allegedly kept a woman hostage in the bank for hours for not paying the installment of a private group loan. This matter came to light when the woman’s husband informed the police on dial 112. After this, the police reached the spot and freed the woman.

The incident is of a private group loan giving bank located in Azad Nagar locality of village Bamhrauli. Ravindra Verma, a resident of Poonch, told the police that his wife Pooja Verma was forcibly kept inside the bank from 12 noon on Monday. The bank employees clearly said that the woman will not be released until the husband deposits the outstanding loan amount.

On receiving the information, the PRV police reached the spot, the bank employees got nervous and immediately threw the woman out. During police interrogation, the bank staff claimed that the woman herself was sitting in the bank and her husband had gone to get the installment amount. Later, the police sent the woman and her husband to Kotwali Month and the bank employees were also called to present their side. At the Kotwali, the woman Pooja Verma submitted a written application to the police and told her ordeal.

Wife said – Agents grabbed the installments
The woman alleged that she had taken a personal loan of Rs 40,000 from the bank, whose monthly installment was Rs 2,120. So far she has paid 11 installments, but only 8 installments are being shown in the bank. She alleged that bank agents Kaushal and Dharmendra did not deposit the money of her three installments and embezzled it.

On this matter, bank manager Anuj Kumar, a resident of Kanpur Dehat, clarified that the woman was not depositing the installment for the last 7 months, so she was called. He also claimed that the woman had come with her husband and was sitting in the bank on her own, she was not forcibly stopped.

“First pay the money, then take the wife”
The husband alleged that we have taken a loan from the group. I have deposited 11 installments of the group, but the bank people are saying that only seven installments have been deposited. We have deposited installments to agents Kushal and Dharmendra. These people have eaten up my installment money in between and have not deposited it, so I had withheld one installment for them. Today these bank people came to my house and brought me and my wife, then we said that if you give us some time, we will deposit the installment, but they said that first give the money, then take the wife. They made us sit in their office for 4 hours. Then I took help from 112 police, only then they were released. Currently, after the matter reached the police, a compromise has been reached between both the parties.
