Students from different states of Delhi protested on Thursday (31 July) to complain about irregularities in the SSC exam. The police thrashed the protesting students. Now Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have targeted BJP over this.
AAP leader Manish Sisodia shared a video on his X handle and said, “Accountability for SSC’s mismanagement? Don’t expect it from BJP. Lathi charge on teachers, this dictatorship is possible only under BJP rule.”
He further wrote, “Democracy has been made such a joke that now instead of giving answers, the government crushes the voice of those demanding their rights with sticks.”
‘Problems during the exam’
Students say that when the exam was held on the 25th, they faced many problems and sometimes the mouse was not working and sometimes our center was changed. The centre in Ajmer was suddenly changed to Leh due to which the exam was missed.”
The students also said, “The company that conducted the exam is blacklisted in many places but still the exam is being conducted by the same company.”
What did the teachers say?
Teacher Harish Tiwari said, “The blacklisted company was again given the tender, where elderly women have been put on security duty. Such centres are completely unsafe.”
‘The system has become corrupt’
Math teacher Abhinay said, “When we went to meet the DOPT minister, the teachers were loaded into vehicles and taken to the CGO complex. There they were introduced to only one officer, who gave a very insensitive reply. The system has become corrupt, now we will protest again with the children.”
NSUI is also supporting
While on one hand the students were protesting at Jantar Mantar, on the other hand a large number of police force was deployed. A bus also came inside Jantar Mantar to remove the protesting SSC students from Jantar Mantar. On the other hand, the Congress student organization NSUI is also supporting the SSC students.
‘Minister is supporting the company instead of the students’
NSUI’s national president Varun Chaudhary also reached the protest and spoke openly in support of the students. He said, “SSC and railway students wanted to meet the minister but they were lathi-charged. A company banned in three states was given the responsibility of the examination, the minister is supporting the company instead of the students.”
