Bhubaneswar: An Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer, facing charges of “cruelty, negligence and mental harassment” towards his wife and infant son, on Friday said he will not become Atul Subhash and will fight till the end. Atul Subhash was a Bengaluru-based software engineer who committed suicide last year after being harassed by his wife.
What is the whole case?
The OAS officer was speaking to reporters after appearing at the women’s police station here in response to a notice issued against him by his wife, who is a government engineer, following a complaint against him. Following this, a case was registered against the officer under various sections of the BNS and Dowry Prevention Act.
The officer rejected all the allegations levelled by his wife and said he has full faith in the police, judiciary and above all Lord Jagannath. “I will not become Atul Subhash…I will fight till the end,” the officer said. I have full faith in the court and Lord Jagannath.”

A similar case was also reported from Hubli in Karnataka where a man committed suicide after being troubled by his wife. In the suicide note, Peturu made serious allegations of harassment against his wife Pinky. He wrote, “I died due to the harassment of my wife.” Not only this, he expressed his last wish that the same should be written on the coffin and his gravestone.
