A part of the under-construction gate of Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Devasthan in Koradi, Nagpur, Maharashtra, collapsed on Saturday night. About 16 workers have been injured in this accident. On receiving the information, the NDRF team reached the spot. Inspector Kripal Mule of Pune’s 5th Battalion of NDRF claimed that the structure had completely collapsed by the time the team reached. The incident took place on Khaparkheda-Koradi Mandir Marg between 8:00 and 8:15 pm on Saturday night.
Inspector Mule said that we were told that all the people working here are injured, but everyone has been rescued. No one was found trapped here. We have searched here, no one is seen trapped yet. But we have to remove the debris first, and only then any comment can be made.
Treatment of the injured is going on
When asked the reason for the collapse of the building, he said that it is being said that construction work was going on and due to the vibration of the equipment, it all collapsed together. There is a 4-5 feet high pile of debris here. Apart from this, Nagpur Joint CP Naveenchandra Reddy said that the debris is being removed. The injured have been shifted to the hospital. The condition of all of them is stable. He said, no rescue work is going on right now, only debris is being removed.

NDRF and police had started the rescue operation. Nagpur DM Vipin Itankar said that when RCC (reinforced cement concrete) was being poured for the slab, it collapsed.
Appeal to the public not to spread rumors
The DM said that the workers working have suffered minor injuries. Their number was around 15-16. Some have been shifted to Nandini Hospital and some to Max Hospital. Nagpur DM said that as per the protocol, NDRF, Police Department and Revenue Department are present here. The debris is being removed with the help of machines. He also urged the public not to spread rumors. “My one request is that rumors should not be spread that there are so many 50 people, 15-16 have been shifted and they have suffered minor injuries, and the debris removal work is going on.
Orders for investigation into the accident
Metropolitan Commissioner of Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) Sanjay Meena reiterated that 15-16 people have been injured. There are no serious injuries. The collector has given his official statement. Construction work of Koradi temple was going on here. Contractors under NMRDA were working here. How this happened can be talked about only after a full investigation. He said that there is no news of any casualties so far. An eyewitness Ratnadeep Rangari said that nine people have been rescued so far.
