The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation wrote on the social media platform X, “The passenger fare of Delhi Metro services has been changed from today i.e. 25 August 2025 (Monday). This increase is minimal, which will be only from ₹ 1 to ₹ 4 according to the distance of travel (up to ₹ 5 for the Airport Express Line). The new fare slabs will be effective from 25 August 2025.”
Why was the decision taken?
The DMRC said that this increase in fare has been done to maintain operation cost and service quality. This step had become necessary due to rising inflation and maintenance costs.
