A case of murder has come to light in Delhi’s Dwarka area due to non-fulfillment of dowry demand. A 22-year-old girl named Komal alias Varsha committed suicide by hanging herself on 21 August. However, the girl’s family says that their daughter did not commit suicide, but she was murdered and hanged. Komal was married to a boy named Aman on 16 April this year in Satg Badu Sarai area. Komal’s family says that her in-laws often harassed her for dowry. She had also shared this with them.
Komal’s father Dinesh alleges that his daughter was harassed for dowry. Komal’s husband Aman and in-laws often harassed the daughter for dowry and Aman used to torture her. On 21 August, Aman admitted Komal to the hospital, where she was declared dead. After the SDM inquiry and the allegations of the family, the police registered a case of dowry murder on 23 August and started investigation and statements of the family are being taken.
Allegations of negligence on the police
The brother of the deceased woman has accused the police of negligence. He says that even after three days of the incident, the accused have not been arrested. The main accused of the murder is roaming freely. In such a situation, the evidence can be tampered with. Anything can be done. Along with this, he has said that the investigation of this case should be given to some other officer. The girl’s brother said that even after three days of the incident, he has not received a copy of the FIR.
