Mumbai: A part of the fourth floor of the rear portion of a four-storey building in Virar of Palghar district has collapsed. So far, three people have died and about 8 to 9 people have been injured in the building collapse. Rescue operation is still going on.

According to the information, a part of the fourth floor of the rear portion of a four-storey building named Ramabai Apartment in Swami Samarth Nagar of Ramu Compound located in Narangi Phata of Virar, adjacent to Mumbai, has collapsed. However, the police have rescued six people so far and taken them to the hospital.
The NDRF team has reached the spot and the search operation is going on in the debris. At present, it is feared that 15 to 20 people may be trapped in the debris of this building. This accident happened at 11:30 last night. This building is ten years old and the Municipal Corporation had declared it extremely dangerous.
A video of the incident has surfaced in which NDRF teams are seen rescuing some children. From the video, it seems that many small children have also been injured in the accident. However, no official information has been received yet. NDRF has said that two teams are carrying out rescue operations at the incident site in Virar East.
