According to the information, as soon as the plane took off from Delhi Airport for Indore, the pilot suspected some danger. Suddenly the cockpit crew started getting signs of fire in the right engine. Seeing this, an emergency-like situation arose. The pilot immediately decided to turn the plane back and informed the Indira Gandhi International Airport ATC. After this, the plane was safely landed at Delhi Airport. At present, the plane is being investigated.

Air India spokesperson said that on August 31, flight AI2913 going from Delhi to Indore, returned to Delhi immediately after takeoff as the cockpit crew got signs of fire in the right engine. Following standard procedure, the cockpit crew decided to shut down the engines and returned to Delhi, where the plane landed safely. The plane has been grounded for inspection, and the passengers are being shifted to an alternate aircraft, which will operate a flight to Indore soon.
