Meghalaya: Eight ministers of Meghalaya resigned from the Council of Ministers, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met Governor CH Vijayshankar at Raj Bhavan and submitted the resignations of the ministers.

Even before this, eight ministers of Meghalaya have resigned from the Council of Ministers. Before the reshuffle in the cabinet on Tuesday, eight ministers including senior leaders AL Hek, Paul Lyngdoh and Ampareen Lyngdoh resigned from the Council of Ministers.

CM met the Governor

Officials said that Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, head of the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government, met Governor CH Vijayshankar at the Raj Bhavan here and submitted the resignations of the ministers. An official said that the new ministers will be sworn in at the Raj Bhavan at 5 pm on Tuesday.

These ministers resigned

Another official said, “Among the eight ministers who resigned from their posts, NPP’s Ampareen Lyngdoh, Comingon Yambon, Rakkam A. Sangma and Abu Tahir Mandal, UDP’s Paul Lyngdoh and Kirmen Shylla, HSPDP’s Shakliyar Warjri and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s AL Hek. He said that their resignation has cleared the way for the inclusion of new ministers in the cabinet.

These leaders can take oath

According to party sources, NPP MLAs Valadmiki Shylla, Sosthenes Sohtun, Brening A. Sangma and Timothy D Shira will join the cabinet. He said that UDP chief Metbah Lyngdoh and former minister Lakhmen Rymbui are also likely to take oath. Sources said that HSPDP MLA Methodius Dkhar will replace Shakliyar Warjri in the cabinet, while BJP’s Sanbor Shullai will replace AL Hek in the cabinet.
