Shashi Ranjan, a veteran leader of the Bihar BJP, has resigned from the party. He personally announced this on Wednesday (September 17, 2025). A longtime member of the party, Shashi Ranjan served as the district president of Jehanabad and currently serves on the Bihar BJP Working Committee. Now, senior leader Shashi Ranjan has resigned from all his positions.
Shashi Ranjan stated that he had been working for the BJP for 28 years. He had the honor of becoming the youngest district president, but today he was being disrespected by some BJP leaders. He stated that he would decide his future decisions after meeting with his supporters.
What did he write in his resignation letter?
Shashi Ranjan has written his resignation letter to the party’s state president, Dilip Jaiswal. In it, he wrote, “Respected President, Namaskar, I, Shashi Ranjan, former District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jehanabad, resign from all party positions. I am resigning from the State Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party. I also resign from active membership. I have worked for the organization for 28 years and am grateful for the respect it has bestowed upon me. Shashi Ranjan is recognized as a firebrand BJP leader in the Jehanabad and Arwal districts. He served as the ABVP’s Kurtha City Minister from 1995 to 1997. He served as the Youth BJP’s District Minister (Jehanabad) in 1998. He became the Youth BJP’s District General Secretary in 2000. He then became the Youth BJP’s District President (Jehanabad) in 2003. He was appointed District General Secretary in 2006. Similarly, he continued to receive different responsibilities at different times. In 2023, he was also appointed in-charge of the Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency. He is currently a member of the Bihar BJP Working Committee. Shashi Ranjan, once a confidant of Sushil Modi, has recently been upset with his neglect within the party.
