Due to heavy rains in Telangana, 11 gates of Himayat Sagar and 15 gates of Osman Sagar have been opened; rain alerts have also been issued in Odisha and Maharashtra.

Rain and flooding continue to wreak havoc in several southern Indian states, including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Kerala. Due to heavy rainfall, the gates of several dams have been opened, causing waterlogging in low-lying areas even when there is no rain. Flood-like conditions have developed in many areas. Meanwhile, the monsoon has begun retreating from North India. People in Delhi and surrounding states are grappling with intense heat. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures may decrease from the third week of October.

In Telangana, after the release of 10,439 cusecs of water from the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar twin reservoirs, several houses on the banks of the Musi River near Chadarghat, including the new bridge, were partially submerged in floodwaters. Water entered homes in Musa Nagar, Rasoolpura, Kamal Nagar, and Vinayak Veedhi, located near the Musi River. Residents carried their belongings and moved to temporary shelters and other safe locations set up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

200 Houses Submerged in Moosanagar
Floodwaters entered the MGBS bus stand on the riverbank due to the Musi. Passengers faced immense difficulties as water entered the bus stand from all sides. In Moosanagar, near Chadarghat, 200 houses were submerged in the floodwaters. People came out of their homes onto the streets clutching their belongings and wearing bandages, crying that all their belongings had been swept away in the floodwaters. 600 people from the Vinayak Veedhi and Rasoolpura areas near Chadarghat were shifted to rehabilitation centers. Official sources said the bridge could close at any time. Traffic was halted due to four feet of water flowing under the Moosarambag Bridge.

Water Filled at the Bus Stand
Water suddenly entered the bus stand while passengers were waiting to depart for their destinations. Passengers faced immense difficulties and traffic jams occurred. Traffic police and GHMC personnel carried out rescue operations throughout the night to alleviate the inconvenience. The Chief Minister has asked officials to remain vigilant.

Alert in Odisha-Kerala
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Kerala. A red alert has been issued for Maharashtra and Odisha, while an orange alert has been issued for Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. A red alert has been issued for three districts in Odisha. Kalahandi, Koraput, and Malkangiri are expected to receive more than 20 cm of rainfall, while 14 districts are expected to receive 12-20 cm of rainfall. An orange alert has been issued for these districts. A yellow alert has been issued for 13 districts, where 7-11 cm of rainfall is expected.
