Weather Alert:-Weather to change again in Delhi, Vaishno Devi Yatra postponed after IMD alert

Weather Alert:-The weather has begun to change across the country. The monsoon is departing. The cold has arrived in Delhi and the NCR. It’s now becoming chilly in the mornings and nights.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain cloudy in Delhi-NCR today. However, no rain is forecast. Meanwhile, the weather in Jammu may deteriorate again. In light of the forecast, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has postponed the pilgrimage to the cave shrine located on the Trikuta Hills in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district from October 5th to 7th. Meanwhile, the high-altitude areas of Kashmir have received the season’s first snowfall. Jaipur has been experiencing heavy rain since Thursday evening, and a rain alert has been issued for Friday.

Strong winds, rain… Weather to change in Delhi

The weather is about to change once again for the people of Delhi-NCR. After a few days of normal weather, the weather here will change again starting Monday, October 6th. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for this day, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms. The weather in the NCR had remained largely normal in recent days. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be cloudy on October 3rd and 4th, but there will be no rain. The maximum temperature on these days will be 34-35 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be 24-25 degrees Celsius. However, this situation will begin to change from October 5th, when rain and thunderstorms are forecast. According to the Meteorological Department, the real change will occur from October 6th. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected throughout this day, along with thunderstorms and strong winds of 30-40 kmph. The maximum temperature on this day is expected to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels may remain between 70 percent and 90 percent, which could create a feeling of intense heat after the rain. This unstable weather is likely to continue on October 7th as well.

The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has once again decided to suspend the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage due to inclement weather. The Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board posted on the social media platform “X” stating that in light of the inclement weather advisory issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage will be suspended from October 5th to 7th, 2025, and will resume on October 8th. Devotees can stay updated through official channels. On August 26th, during extreme weather in the Jammu division, a landslide on the Mata Vaishno Devi temple route claimed the lives of over 35 pilgrims and injured over 10 others. The pilgrimage was suspended due to this. Following the recent landslide in Katra, the administration had issued an evacuation order for hotels and dharamshalas.

Kashmir receives season’s first snowfall

The high altitude areas of Kashmir received the season’s first snowfall on Friday, with more snowfall expected in the coming days, according to the Meteorological Department. Snowfall occurred in Affarwat, the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla, north Kashmir, and in Sinthan Top in Anantnag district in the south.

Officials said light rain occurred at some places in the plains, including Srinagar and its surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department said a western disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas from Sunday. “Under the influence of this system, widespread light to moderate rain or snowfall (in higher reaches) is likely over Jammu and Kashmir from October 5 to October 7, 2025. This activity will occur during the night of October 5 to the morning of October 7,” the department said in an advisory.
