Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting with various officials on Saturday. During the meeting, he reviewed the preparations for the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik. Fadnavis directed officials to ensure that all infrastructure work for the 2027 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela is completed expeditiously and to the highest standards.
CM gave instructions
According to a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Fadnavis directed that the Nashik Ring Road project be completed without delay. Furthermore, land acquisition for the Sadhu Gram (Tent City) should be carried out at full speed. Let’s find out what instructions the CM has given to officials regarding the Simhastha Kumbh Mela:
- All infrastructure work for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela should be completed with quality and at a fast pace.
- Work on the new Nashik ring road should be completed immediately; delays will not be tolerated.
- Land acquisition and development work for the Sadhu Gram (Tent City) should be completed at a fast pace.
- Sewage management work should be prioritized to ensure the water in Ramkund remains clean.
- Development work on the airport and rail facilities should be completed in the pre-Kumbh period.
- Work on a centralized CCTV network and various AI options to maintain law and order.
- Pay special attention to police housing, public transport, and parking arrangements.
- Work on implementing the concept of “Digital Kumbh” and developing a separate promotional plan for the Kumbh Mela.
- The Chief Minister issued strict instructions to ensure that citizens are not inconvenienced by incomplete works.
The Godavari river will remain clean.
Addressing a review meeting at the state government’s Sahyadri Guest House, Fadnavis said that the Kumbh Mela is a symbol of religious faith. and symbolizes cultural tradition. He assured that the water of the Godavari River in Ramkund and other areas will remain clean throughout the event. He said that sewage and sanitation works should be given priority and facilities at airports and railway stations should be ready on time. The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to ensure the immediate approval of the necessary funds. He said that facilities in Sadhu Gram should be provided in consultation with the various Akharas.
