Rajasthan: Twenty people died tragically in a fire in an AC bus in Jaisalmer. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reached Jodhpur’s Mahatma Gandhi Hospital late last night to inquire about the condition of the injured.

Twenty people tragically died when an AC bus caught fire in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on Tuesday. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited Jodhpur’s Mahatma Gandhi Hospital late at night to inquire about the injured and instructed doctors to provide the best possible treatment. He stated that the injured and the families of the victims would receive all possible assistance. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal himself posted photos and messages from the hospital on his social media handles.

The accident occurred on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur Highway. Initial investigations indicate a short circuit as the cause of the fire, while the bus was carrying 50 people. The fire was severe, so those trapped inside were unable to be rescued.

Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Post
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited Mahatma Gandhi Hospital late at night to inquire about the condition of the injured. He wrote in his post, “I reached Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur and met with the injured and their families in the Jaisalmer bus accident. After inquiring from the doctors about their treatment status, I instructed them to ensure they receive all possible medical assistance and the best possible treatment.” I pray to God for the speedy recovery of all the injured.

PM and President express grief
PM Modi and President Draupadi Murmu also expressed grief over this tragic accident and directed all possible assistance to the injured. Financial assistance of ₹2 lakh each has been announced from the PM Relief Fund to the families of the deceased.

The bus departed from Jaisalmer at 3 pm.
The accident occurred near the village of Thaiyat in Hafsa, Jaisalmer. The bus departs from Jaisalmer daily at 3 pm. However, it had only traveled 20 kilometers when it suddenly burst into flames. Local villagers immediately informed the police and fire brigade. With the villagers’ help, many people were rescued alive, but those trapped in the flames could not escape.
