On Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray joining the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule said there is nothing wrong in coming together in the national interest.

Amid growing speculation about Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray joining the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule made a major statement on Wednesday. She said there is nothing wrong with coming together in the national interest.

However, Supriya Sule also clarified that the final decision on including MNS in the alliance will be taken by senior MVA leaders.

“We will inform you about the decision after the meeting.”
Speaking to reporters in Pune, Supriya Sule was asked whether the MVA has found a new ally in Raj Thackeray. In response, she said, “There is nothing wrong with coming together in the national interest.” She further added, “The decision on including Raj Thackeray in the MVA will be taken by senior leaders. These are major political decisions, and such decisions are not made in front of cameras. Such discussions take place in meetings. We will inform you about the decision after the meeting.”

Raj Thackeray’s meeting with MVA leaders stirs up controversy
Supriya Sule’s statement comes after Raj Thackeray, along with top opposition leaders, including NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray, met Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer S. Chokkalingam on Tuesday. During the meeting, opposition leaders expressed concern over alleged irregularities in the election process, including the voter list.

Raj Thackeray’s active participation in the meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer has renewed debate about whether the MNS could soon become part of the opposition alliance, the MVA. The coming together of Raj Thackeray and his cousin Uddhav Thackeray is being considered a major turning point in Maharashtra politics.
