The incident occurred on Sunday night, when a panic arose when an unknown thief entered the Municipal Corporation premises through the roof in broad daylight. It is reported that the thief reached the roof via the stairs through the gallery. From there, he broke the glass of the skylight and entered the Land Section officer’s room. According to CCTV footage, the thief fell down while breaking the false ceiling and fled in panic. Although he failed to steal anything valuable, the office suffered significant damage.

When the office opened on Monday morning, the false ceiling was found broken, and the computers and UPS were damaged. Corporation employees were perplexed as to how this had happened and who had done it. They said that when they opened the room, they found the false ceiling in the land section room had been broken.
