During a conversation with reporters, Trump said that many important matters related to trade between India and the US were discussed. He praised Prime Minister Modi, saying that he is a wonderful person and has become a very good friend of mine over time. “We had a very good conversation, and we primarily discussed trade.”

Renewed claim regarding Russian oil purchases
The US President has again claimed regarding oil purchases from Russia, saying that PM Modi told him that he will not buy more oil from Russia. He has made such claims several times before. However, the Indian Foreign Ministry had completely rejected these claims by Trump. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said that PM Modi and Trump had not spoken on the phone.
