The Maharashtra government has taken strict action against the issue of increasing illegal Bangladeshi immigration in the state and has issued strict guidelines to prepare a blacklist of Bangladeshi infiltrators.

The government has taken a major step to curb Bangladeshi infiltration into Maharashtra. The state government has directed the preparation of a blacklist of Bangladeshis and verification of ration cards. New guidelines have also been issued for issuing new ration cards. The government has issued these directives in light of the security threats posed by the increasing number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the state.

According to the government directive, the ATS has been asked to hold an internal brainstorming session on the issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and submit a report on measures to the ATS. A blacklist of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants should be prepared to ensure they do not receive benefits from government welfare schemes.

Immediately cancel these documents

Investigate whether any official documents have been issued in the name of the individuals included in the list of 1,274 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants received from the Anti-Terrorism Department against whom cases have been registered. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has been directed that if such documents are found, necessary action should be taken to immediately cancel, suspend, or deactivate them. A copy of the order should also be sent to the Anti-Terrorism Squad for information.

Furthermore, a list of apprehended illegal Bangladeshi immigrants should be compiled and sent to the Department’s computer room for publication on the Department’s official website so that regional/divisional offices can take precautions.

Furthermore, if ration cards are being distributed on the recommendation of a local representative, the applicant’s documents or place of residence should be strictly verified. All the above should be strictly enforced. Quarterly progress reports of all actions should be submitted to the government.
