Batting first, Team India scored 298 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the African team was all out for 246 runs. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana gave the Indian team a solid start, putting on a 104-run partnership for the first wicket. Smriti scored 45 runs off 58 balls. Jemima, who scored a century in the semi-final match, could only manage 24 runs from 37 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur was clean bowled after scoring 20 runs from 29 balls.
