In Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district, a man committed suicide due to alcohol addiction. His wife forbade him from drinking and refused to give him money for it. Angered by this, the husband consumed pesticide. The deceased was identified as Satish, a resident of Chandrampeta in the Nellimarla division.
Sathish was married to Shanti, a resident of Rolavaka village. Shortly after their marriage, Satish developed an alcohol addiction and gradually became addicted. After becoming addicted, Satish refused to work and harassed his wife, Shanti, for money to buy alcohol. His wife repeatedly tried to reason with him and discouraged him from drinking.
He committed suicide when his wife refused to give him money.
On Sunday morning, Satish asked his wife for money to buy alcohol, saying, “Please give me the money.” When his wife said she didn’t have the money, Satish began to mistreat Shanti and pressure her to give him money. When his wife refused to give him the money despite his repeated requests, Satish left in anger. He then went to the field and committed suicide by consuming pesticide.

When locals found Satish unconscious after consuming pesticide, they immediately informed his family. The family arrived at the scene, and a crowd of villagers also gathered. Satish was immediately taken to the hospital. However, doctors examined Satish and declared him dead. Satish’s wife, Shanti, filed a complaint with the Bondapalli police. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
