Babubhai Jirawala in Amreli district of Gujarat, on the death anniversary of his mother, freed 299 farmers from debt by paying off their bank loan of Rs 90 lakh. This noble deed brought happiness on the faces of the farmers and they got a new start in their lives.

A man in Gujarat has performed a feat that is being praised not only in the state but across the country. The businessman deposited the entire village’s farmers’ debt into the bank, freeing them from debt. The incident took place in Jira village, Savarkundla tehsil, Amreli district, where Babubhai Jirawala, a resident, paid off the debts of all the farmers on his mother’s death anniversary.

It is reported that the village’s farmers had been indebted to the bank since 1995, a debt that had been increasing every year. Babubhai explained that a dispute had been ongoing in his village regarding the Jira Seva Sahakari Mandal since 1995. The then-members of the committee had fraudulently obtained loans from the bank in the farmers’ names. Over the years, the debt had increased exponentially. This caused significant distress to many farmers in the village, and these fraudulent loans prevented them from accessing government benefits. Furthermore, the debt had increased exponentially.

Farmers were unable to get loans.
Babubhai explained that due to the debt, even the land was not being divided. He explained that seeing the plight of the village farmers, Babubhai’s mother had expressed her desire to sell her jewelry to pay off the debt. The farmers had a total debt of ₹8,989,209. Babubhai and his brother approached the bank officials and explained their intention to repay the money, after which the bank officials agreed and agreed to issue a debt-free certificate. Babubhai and his family are very happy that they were able to fulfill their mother’s wish.

A New Life Begins
A small ceremony was held to repay the farmers’ loans, attended by the farmers, Babubhai’s family, and bank officials. The full payment was made to the bank, and they presented the farmers with debt-free certificates (No Due Certificates). 299 farmers became debt-free. The atmosphere became emotional, bringing tears of joy to the farmers’ eyes.
