Congress’s signature campaign of more than 5 crore people regarding the allegations of flaws in the SIR process and the Central Government in connivance with the Election Commission to steal votes was completed on November 5. On November 8, protest will be expressed with signatures at the party headquarters in every state.

In October, Congress launched a nationwide signature campaign of 50 million people to protest against the flaws in the SIR process and the central government’s collusion with the Election Commission to steal votes. The campaign completed over 50 million signatures on November 5th. Following this, the Congress’s top leadership decided to protest by collecting signatures at the party headquarters in every state on November 8th.

Following this, all the signature campaign documents received from the states will be sent to the Congress headquarters in Delhi and presented to the media.

A major rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan
As a next step in the run-up to the Bihar elections, Congress is planning a major rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan in the last week of November or the first week of December. Leaders from the India Bloc may also be invited. The signature campaign of over 50 million people will be presented to the public at this rally. The documents containing these signatures will then be submitted to the President.

The Supreme Court should take suo motu cognizance.
In fact, Congress has decided that it will not approach the Supreme Court on this issue. It wants the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance. Congress believes that its leader Rahul Gandhi has made factual revelations and is accountable to the public. Therefore, the Supreme Court should take suo motu cognizance, as the matter of SIR in Bihar is sub judice.

Decision to conduct SIR in other states of the country
Congress says that the decision has not been made, but the first round of voting was conducted using the same voter list. Furthermore, the Election Commission decided to conduct SIR in other states of the country despite the pending decision in Bihar.
