Vande Bharat Express: A new chapter in rail travel in India was inaugurated on Saturday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi. Having become a symbol of speed, comfort, and modernity in the country’s rail network, these new Vande Bharat Express trains will make passenger journeys even more comfortable and comfortable. The newly launched trains include the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-New Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Expresses. Developed by the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), these state-of-the-art trains are manufactured under the Make in India initiative, marking another major step towards the modernization of Indian Railways. 1. Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express
The Vande Bharat Express, running from Banaras to Khajuraho, will now offer passengers a travel time savings of approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. This train will directly connect religious and cultural destinations like Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. This route will revitalize religious tourism in North India and provide travelers with a comfortable, fast, and modern journey to Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

2. Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat Express
This train will travel between Lucknow and Saharanpur in approximately 7 hours and 45 minutes, saving passengers approximately 1 hour of travel time. This train connects Lucknow, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Bijnor, and Saharanpur. It will also make it easier to reach Haridwar via Roorkee. This train will strengthen economic and social connectivity between western and central Uttar Pradesh.
3. Firozpur-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express
The Vande Bharat Express, running between Firozpur in Punjab and Delhi, will now be the fastest train on this route. It will complete the journey in just 6 hours and 40 minutes. This train will directly connect Firozpur, Bathinda, and Patiala to the national capital, opening up new opportunities for trade, tourism, and employment. This route will play a vital role in the socio-economic development of the border areas.
4. Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
This new train will be a boon for travelers in South India. This Vande Bharat train will reduce the travel time between Ernakulam and Bengaluru by 2 hours, to just 8 hours and 40 minutes. This route will connect major IT, business, and educational centers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, boosting regional development and tourism.
