Dr. Adil Ahmed Rathar, working in Saharanpur, was arrested by Srinagar police on charges of putting up posters of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

A doctor working in Saharanpur has been arrested for allegedly putting up posters of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. The accused has been identified as Dr. Adil Ahmed Rathar, a resident of Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar police identified the accused based on CCTV footage and mobile surveillance and arrested him on Thursday (November 9).

According to reports, a few days ago, posters supporting Jaish-e-Mohammed were put up in several areas of Srinagar. The appearance of these posters sparked tension in the area. Srinagar police registered a case against unknown individuals on October 28 and launched an investigation. During the investigation, a man in the footage was identified as Dr. Adil, and his location was traced to Saharanpur.

The accused doctor worked as a medicine specialist at a hospital.
A team from Srinagar police arrived in Saharanpur on Thursday and met with SSP Ashish Tiwari to obtain permission for the arrest. Following this, with the help of the local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG), Dr. Adil Ahmed was detained from a private hospital on Ambala Road. It is reported that the accused doctor had been working as a medicine specialist at the same hospital for some time.

Following the arrest, the police stated that Adil had recently married a female doctor from Saharanpur on October 4th. According to the Saharanpur police, no criminal record was found against him locally. The court handed him over to the Srinagar police on transit remand.

What did the hospital administration say about Adil’s arrest?
Reacting to the incident, the hospital administration stated that they were unaware of any criminal activity by the doctor. Dr. Aslam Zaidi, the hospital’s administrative in-charge, stated that Dr. Adil had been working with us for the past six months. He was appointed as a medicine specialist only after thorough verification. We learned about this this morning through the media.

Police sent Adil to Srinagar for remand.
Meanwhile, SP City Vyom Bindal stated that the Jammu and Kashmir Police had come to Saharanpur to arrest a wanted accused. A joint team of Sadar Bazaar Police Station and the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested the accused and, as per court orders, sent him to Srinagar on remand. This case once again highlights the importance of the country’s security agencies’ vigilance regarding the covert activities of terrorist organizations.
