Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday rejected the allegations leveled by the BJP. The BJP had accused him of seeking an alliance with the BJP at the Centre in 2024 for the restoration of statehood. On Sunday, the CM directly responded to the statement of opposition leader Sunil Sharma and refuted all the allegations leveled against him through a post on social media.
He said, “I swear on the Holy Quran that I didn’t seek an alliance with the BJP in 2024 for statehood or for any other reason. Unlike Sunil Sharma, I don’t tell lies for a living.” https://t.co/qEMAcRvzCV

Challenged to swear on the Quran
Sunil Sharma claimed that Abdullah again went to Delhi in 2024 and offered to form a government with the BJP if statehood was restored. He said his offer was rejected. Sunil Sharma challenged Abdullah to swear on the Quran that he had not gone to Delhi to form a government. He said he would not do so, but, “We are ready to swear wherever you want.”
Sunil Sharma had previously said that Abdullah had taken a similar initiative after the hung mandate in the 2014 assembly elections. Abdullah recently criticized the central government and said that only his National Conference is fighting the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
At a rally in Budgam, Sunil Sharma challenged Abdullah to publicly confirm that there was no unspoken agreement with Delhi. Sharma said the BJP leadership had rejected such opportunistic offers.
