Police in Korba, Chhattisgarh, also arrested two gang members and recovered 14 stolen bikes.

This is the story of a thief who disappeared from his home for 10 years. He lived in the forest. As soon as he came out, he would steal bikes and then hide in the forest. He had made six girlfriends by pretending to be rich. Now, the Korba police in Chhattisgarh have arrested him and busted his gang.

The thief’s name is Jaisingh Patel (27). According to the police, some time ago, they received a complaint about the theft of a roller from a mine. Following this, the police began an investigation. They discovered a man living in a hut among the trees in the forest near the mine. During interrogation, the young man gave his name as Jaisingh Patel. He did not have an Aadhaar card or any other documents.

Bike Thieves Formed a Gang
Under rigorous police interrogation, he revealed that he and two accomplices had formed a bike theft gang. They would first conduct reconnaissance and then steal bikes whenever they found an opportunity. The stolen bikes were then sold to various buyers at cheap prices.

Jaisingh confessed to stealing rollers from the mine, as well as committing numerous crimes in the Kusmunda police station area, Dipka, and Sarvamangala outpost areas. Police investigations also revealed that he had been completely absent from his family for the past ten years. His family even believed he was dead because he never returned.

What did the officer say?
Station in-charge Premchand Sahu stated that in addition to mastermind Jaisingh, two of his associates and three bike buyers have also been arrested. The arrested accused include Anas Khan, Shivcharan, Ramprasad, Rohidas, Lalji Yadav, and Imran Ansari. A total of 14 stolen bikes have been recovered from their possession.

Police investigating the thieves’ network
Police interrogations have revealed several other revelations related to the gang. All the arrested accused were produced in court, where they were sent to jail in judicial custody. Police are now investigating the theft network to determine what other cases the gang may have been involved in.
