Nitish Kumar is set to take over as Chief Minister for the 10th time, with 20 ministers expected to take oath alongside him today.

The new government in Bihar is scheduled to be sworn in today, Thursday. The suspense surrounding the CM’s position has been lifted. Nitish Kumar will be the next Chief Minister of Bihar. He will be sworn in for the 10th time. With the swearing-in, he will become the 19th Chief Minister of Bihar. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11:30 am at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Both Deputy Chief Ministers will also remain there. Three major meetings were held in Patna on Wednesday. The first meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s House. Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected leader of the JDU legislative party at the Chief Minister’s residence.

बिहार में 10वीं बार 'नीतीशे कुमार', आज शपथग्रहण... किस पार्टी के कितने मंत्री लेंगे शपथ?Shortly after Nitish Kumar’s election as leader, a meeting of the BJP legislative party was held. Samrat Chaudhary was elected leader and Vijay Sinha was elected deputy leader. Both are also Deputy Chief Ministers. Central observer Keshav Prasad Maurya praised both of them at the meeting. Following the two meetings, the NDA legislative party met. Nitish was elected leader, confirming his appointment as the next Chief Minister of Bihar.

After being elected as the leader of the legislative party, Nitish Kumar went to Raj Bhavan, submitted his resignation to the Governor, and staked claim to form the government. A letter of support was also submitted to the Governor. The most significant point here is that Nitish Kumar did not resign his post until he was elected leader of the NDA legislative party. He did meet with the Governor the day before, but surprised everyone by announcing that he would resign on the 19th.

New Government in Bihar, Same Deputy CM

Bihar has a new government, but the CM and Deputy CM positions are old. While there were reports on Monday that the party might not repeat Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, the situation changed within two days. Nitish Kumar is the brain behind this as well. The BJP wanted two new faces to become Deputy CMs, one of whom could have been a woman. However, Nitish Kumar expressed his comfort in working with Samrat Chaudhary. Now, the BJP faced a dilemma: accepting only Nitish’s proposal could lead to dissent within the party. In such a situation, either both faces should be replaced or both should be repeated. Therefore, at the last minute, it was decided to replace both, rather than risk replacing one. Vijay Sinha also won the election by lobbying for Samrat.

Nitish has found a “pair”… Sushil Modi comes to mind!
By the way, Nitish’s affection for Samrat Choudhary was evident during the election campaign. On November 2nd, the Chief Minister personally went to Tarapur to seek votes for him. He garlanded him on stage, and Samrat touched Nitish’s feet and sought his blessings. Nitish always establishes a strong alliance, or comfort zone, with a specific leader within the BJP. He shared a strong bond with Sushil Modi.

Bihar Nitish Kumar..

20 ministers may be sworn in alongside Nitish
It is said that in 2017, the BJP had prepared a script to remove Sushil Modi from the post of Deputy Chief Minister, but Nitish vetoed it. Even then, the BJP had to approve Sushil Modi’s name. Nitish’s bond with Samrat Choudhary appears to be more or less the same. Reports suggest that 20 ministers may be sworn in alongside Nitish Kumar tomorrow. Following this, the cabinet expansion will take place, with 14 new ministers being included, meaning a total of 34 ministers could be included in the new government.

Possible ministers from the BJP quota include names like:
Samrat Chaudhary
Vijay Sinha
Ramkripal Yadav
Nitin Naveen
Mangal Pandey.

After the swearing-in ceremony, a special session of the Assembly may be called from November 24th to 28th, in which the government will prove its majority in the House.

Many leaders, including PM Modi, will be present.
A helipad has been built at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
