Bettiah: Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore ended his one-day hunger strike in Bettiah on Friday. Speaking to the media, he leveled serious allegations against the Bihar government. He claimed that “for the first time in the country’s history,” votes were bought in the state and that ₹10,000 each was deposited into the accounts of over 10 million women. Prashant Kishore said, “If I’m wrong, the Bihar government should send me to jail. The state government didn’t have the funds, so the money was taken from the state’s contingency fund and World Bank grants were also used.”

Prashant Kishore will go door-to-door
Prashant Kishore further stated that during the elections, the NDA had promised to give ₹2 lakh to women. He said, “We will ensure that the women of Bihar receive this amount.” He announced that after January 15th, Jan Suraj workers will visit all 1.18 lakh wards in the state and tell people how their votes were bought. He said that the “Bihar Nav Nirman Sankalp” campaign will begin from that day, in which he himself will reach every household in the state over the next 15 to 18 months.

Donating 90 Percent of Income to the Party
Prashant Kishore said that he will donate 90 percent of his income to the party for the next five years. He said, “I will donate all the movable and immovable assets I have acquired in the last 20 years, except for a house in Delhi, to the Jan Suraj Party.” He appealed to the people of the state and those associated with Jan Suraj to donate Rs. 1,000 to the party. He said, “I will not meet anyone who will not donate Rs. 1,000 to the party.”

Modi and Nitish Kumar bought votes
Attacking the Nitish Kumar cabinet, Prashant Kishore said, “This is a slap in the face of the people of Bihar. It’s like adding salt to a wound. Some people were made ministers simply because their fathers are in politics. People with corrupt and criminal backgrounds were also included.” He alleged that PM Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar no longer care about Bihar because the votes were bought in the elections and they no longer care about the people.

Prashant Kishore said that his politics is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of patience and perseverance. He said, “We will change the government. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to break our morale, but we will not back down.”
