Nainital: A tragic accident occurred on Saturday near Kainchi Dham in Nainital district, Uttarakhand. Three people died when a vehicle fell into a 60-meter-deep gorge. One person was seriously injured in the accident and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Upon receiving information about the accident, the SDRF launched a rescue operation. According to reports, the passengers were on their way to attend a wedding when the vehicle lost control and fell into the gorge. All the victims were residents of Almora.

In fact, late Saturday evening, a car fell into a deep gorge at Ratighat near Khairna on the Almora-Haldwani highway. Three teachers died on the spot, while one was seriously injured. All the teachers were on their way to attend a wedding in Haldwani. Upon receiving information, locals informed the police about the accident. Following this, the Khairna police station and the SDRF team immediately arrived at the scene and began a rescue operation.

Despite the harsh terrain, darkness, and deep ravines, the SDRF team pulled out the injured and the deceased using ropes. The vehicle that fell into the ravine has been identified as a Mahindra XUV500. Four people were inside. The vehicle fell into a ravine approximately 60 meters deep. Three people died in the accident, identified as Sanjay Bisht, a resident of Almora, Surendra Bhandari, a resident of Almora, and Pushkar Bhaisora, a resident of Almora. Another teacher, Manoj Kumar, a resident of Almora, was seriously injured. After first aid, the injured teacher was referred to a higher center in Haldwani.
