The three-day grand gathering, organized to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, commenced on Sunday with reverence and complete religious harmony at the Red Fort complex. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the grand event late Sunday evening.

On this occasion, she said that Guru Tegh Bahadur’s life is a complete and living example of standing against oppression, religious intolerance, and injustice. He was not only a great Guru of Sikhism but also a protector of all humanity. He sacrificed his life to protect India’s religious freedom. Such a grand event is being organized for the first time in Delhi. This is a historic event, and devotees from India and abroad are coming to witness it.

Protecting India’s Religious Freedom
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, while paying homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur on this occasion, said that the life of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur is an example of unwavering courage and unwavering sacrifice in the face of oppression, injustice, and religious intolerance. He said that the Ninth Guru sacrificed his life to protect India’s religious freedom and provided humanity with an ideal that will continue to inspire for centuries. Describing this historic occasion as a deeply moving one, the Chief Minister said that holding this grand memorial ceremony at the Red Fort, the very site where his martyrdom was witnessed, is a profound experience for the devotees.

Supreme Sacrifice for Humanity
The Chief Minister also paid tribute to the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s devoted followers, Bhai Sati Das, Bhai Mati Das, and Bhai Diyala Ji, and said that all these great men made the supreme sacrifice for truth, righteousness, and humanity. He also recalled that today is also the Guruta Gaddi Diwas of the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, making the occasion even more sacred and significant.

Taking Care of the Devotees
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the government is leaving no stone unturned to make this event a grand success. The Delhi Government and the Gurdwara Management Committee are ensuring that devotees face no inconvenience. He expressed special gratitude to the Gurdwara Management Committee and all the volunteers associated with the event, who played a vital role in making the event a grand success.

Thousands of devotees from India and abroad participated in this historic event, jointly organized by the Delhi Government and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Besides Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra, dignitaries from the Sikh community and the general public were also present in large numbers.
