The state government is actively working with vigilance and sensitivity for the welfare of farmers. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country where relief funds are being provided to soybean-producing farmers under the Bhavantar Yojana. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated this on Sunday evening during a discussion with a group of farmers who met under the leadership of Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar. Sheopur-in-charge Minister Rakesh Shukla and former minister Ram Niwas Rawat were also present on the occasion.
On November 27th, the Chief Minister will distribute relief funds to paddy-producing farmers in Sheopur whose crops have been damaged. It is noteworthy that the state government had ordered a survey to assess the damage to farmers’ crops.
Provision for 90 Percent Payment
Mohan Yadav said that to ensure farmers do not have to pay excessively on electricity bills for irrigation, a provision was made for the government to pay 90 percent of the electricity bill for three-horsepower and five-horsepower power plants. Decisions were made to purchase wheat from state farmers at a rate of ₹2,600 per quintal and to provide a bonus on paddy. The state government will continue to protect the interests of farmers.
What did Chief Minister Mohan Yadav say about Sheopur?
CM Mohan Yadav stated that hardworking farmers in Sheopur district have contributed significantly to both agriculture and milk production. Cow rearing is a major part of animal husbandry in the district, and there is a tradition of respecting the mother cow. Following the settlement of cheetahs in Palpur Kuno in Sheopur district, their second and third generations are emerging. Efforts to strengthen the district’s economy through tourism are certainly proving successful. Better results will be seen in this area in the future.
