Bhopal police arrested Salman, accused of raping the innocent girl, six days after the incident. Accused Salman was arrested in Gandhinagar, Bhopal. After his arrest, he was handed over to the Raisen police. When the Raisen police were taking him away, the police vehicle had a puncture on the way. Taking advantage of this, the accused Salman tried to escape. The police fired a shot in an attempt to apprehend him, hitting Salman in the leg, after which he was re-arrested.

Salman arrested in Bhopal
Indeed, Salman had raped a six-year-old girl in Gauharganj, Raisen, on November 21st. He had been absconding since the incident. After being apprehended in Bhopal, Salman revealed during interrogation that he had reached Bhopal on foot through the forest. Police from Bhopal’s Gandhinagar police station arrested him and handed him over to the Gauharganj police. Upon receiving news of Salman’s arrest, Hindu organization workers rushed to the police station, but he had already been handed over to the Gauharganj police. However, when he tried to escape, the police shot him in the leg and re-arrested him.

Arrested While Searching for a Room
It is reported that accused Salman was looking for a room to rent in Ward No. 11 of Gandhinagar, Bhopal, but he had no ID. People became suspicious and questioned him. When they noticed his face resembled that of Salman, an absconding accused from Raisen, they handed him over to the Gandhinagar police. Upon receiving news of Salman’s arrest, workers from the Jai Maa Bhavani Hindu organization also rushed to the police station, but he had already been handed over to the Gauharganj police.

Shot While Trying to Escape
Since the incident, people in Raisen have been protesting for the arrest of accused Salman. They are demanding the death penalty or an encounter for the accused. On the evening of November 21st, a 6-year-old girl was playing outside her home when 23-year-old Salman, the accused, lured her into the woods on the pretext of buying her chocolate, raped her, and fled. The girl was found crying in the woods and was admitted to a hospital in Bhopal, where her condition is improving after surgery. Police had announced a reward of 30,000 rupees for the accused, Salman.
