Cyclone Ditwah: Heavy rains are expected due to the cyclonic storm ‘Ditwah’ moving towards the coast of Tamil Nadu, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of change in temperature and rain in different states of the country.

Cyclone Ditwah: Cyclone Ditwah, approaching the Tamil Nadu coast, is expected to bring torrential rainfall. The Tamil Nadu government has reviewed its preparations to face such a cyclone for the second time in a month. The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rainfall in the southern and Cauvery Delta districts of Tamil Nadu between November 29th and 30th. Regarding Delhi, severe air quality has persisted for the past two months. Delhi’s overall AQI is 361. India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhavan are dimly visible from the Kartavya Path. A thick blanket of smog has shrouded Delhi, with visibility below 300 meters. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of temperature changes and rain in various states across the country.

Where will Cyclone Ditwah bring rain?
The Meteorological Department stated that Cyclone Ditwah, which formed over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and the coast of Sri Lanka, is slowly moving northward. It is expected to reach the southwest Bay of Bengal by the morning of November 30th, passing through the coastal areas of North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh. Cyclone Ditwah is expected to cause heavy to very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on November 29th and 30th, and in coastal Andhra Pradesh-Rayalaseema from November 29th to December 1st.

Where and how much will temperatures drop in India?
Regarding temperatures, according to the Meteorological Department, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures in Northwest India for the next 48 hours, and thereafter, it may drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures in Central India for the next 48 hours, and thereafter, there may be an increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures in East India for the next four days, and thereafter, there may be a drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius.

In Maharashtra, the minimum temperature is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days, and there will be no significant change thereafter. Meanwhile, in Gujarat, the minimum temperature will remain relatively constant over the next 48 hours, and thereafter, it may increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
