Voting is taking place today for 12 municipal corporation seats in the national capital, Delhi. The Election Commission had already announced the dates for the MCD by-elections to fill the vacant positions of 12 municipal councilors. The notification and opening of nominations were set for November 3, and the voting date was November 30. Voting for the by-elections in 12 wards took place on Sunday, with 51 candidates contesting. The results will be declared on December 3.

This is the BJP’s first test after its landslide victory in the assembly elections. However, it is being said that Rekha Gupta and her team have put in a lot of hard work in this election. This is why the party is expecting good results. The main contest in the MCD elections is between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party.

These results will reveal whether the BJP has been able to consolidate its hold on the corporation. The BJP had ruled the MCD for three consecutive terms, but was ousted from power by the AAP in 2022.

By-elections are being held today for 12 Delhi Municipal Corporation seats. Voting began at 7:30 am. The Delhi State Election Commission has made all preparations for this by-election. 6.98 lakh voters will be able to exercise their franchise today. The fate of 51 candidates will be decided by today’s voting. The results of today’s voting will be announced on December 3rd. This will determine whether the BJP passes its first test. The by-elections will be held on Sunday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
