The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning for several states, including Punjab and Haryana. An alert has also been issued for snowfall and fog in Shimla. A cold wave warning is also in effect for eastern Rajasthan. Jharkhand may also experience the effects of the cold wave, although the impact is expected to be less severe there.

The IMD has issued a rain alert for Tamil Nadu. A heavy rain warning has been issued for Kerala and Rayalaseema. Fog is expected in Odisha and the northeastern states. Fog may also cause problems in Himachal Pradesh.

Light Rain and Snowfall Expected in Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of three districts (Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu) of Himachal Pradesh on Friday and Sunday. The department has also warned of dense fog until Saturday morning in parts of the Bhakra Dam area in Bilaspur district and surrounding areas, and in parts of the Balh Valley in Mandi district. The state experienced dry weather for the past 24 hours since Wednesday evening, but the cold wave continued in the higher and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog prevailed in Bilaspur and Mandi, while moderate fog was observed in Sundernagar. Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest at night, recording a minimum temperature of minus 7.4 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Kukumseri at minus four degrees, Samdho at minus 3.9 degrees, and Kalpa at minus 0.6 degrees Celsius. Solan was the warmest during the day, recording a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Experiences Coldest Day on Thursday
The national capital recorded its lowest maximum temperature of the season on Thursday at 23.1 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, the second lowest maximum temperature of the season was recorded on Wednesday at 23.7 degrees Celsius. The lowest maximum temperature of the season was recorded last November at 14.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Thursday was 5.6 degrees Celsius, which is 3.9 degrees below normal. Friday is expected to be cloudy, with light fog in the morning and a possibility of cold wave conditions in some areas. The minimum temperature is forecast to be five degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature 23 degrees Celsius.
