Mumbai: The BMC has issued a high tide warning, advising people to avoid going to the seashore on Thursday as waves could reach up to 4.96 meters. Large-scale high tides are expected in the sea for four days, from December 4th to 7th.

Mumbai: The BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has issued a high tide warning. The BMC has advised people to avoid going to the seashore on Thursday as waves as high as 4.96 meters are expected. Waves higher than 4 meters are expected from December 4th to 7th. The BMC stated on Thursday that there is a possibility of exceptionally high tides in the sea for four consecutive days between December 4th and 7th, 2025. During this period, waves higher than four and a half meters are expected.

The BMC’s disaster management department has released detailed information regarding the high tides. This includes details of the dates, times, and estimated height of the waves. The BMC has appealed to people to avoid going near the seashore.

Waves as high as 5.03 meters expected on December 6th

The BMC said that waves as high as 5.03 meters are expected at 12:39 AM on December 6th, 2025. Citizens are urged not to go near the seashore during high tide days. They are also requested to strictly follow all safety instructions issued by the Mumbai Police and the Municipal Corporation. Followers visiting Chaityabhoomi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan (Shivaji Park) on the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Day are also advised to exercise caution near the seashore.
