Mumbai Police arrested a man who was defrauding people by promising them admission to Nita Ambani Junior School in Mumbai. A police constable was assisting the accused in the fraud and has been suspended.

A scam involving fraudulent admissions to the prestigious Nita Ambani Junior School in Mumbai has been exposed. Investigations revealed that a man named Mahfuz Zaki Ahmed Sheikh, also known as Rajesh Kotwani, was extorting large sums of money from parents by promising them admission for their children. The accused demanded Rs. 9.39 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh from two different parents.

How he trapped parents in his scheme:
The involvement of traffic police constable Amol Avghade in this racket has also come to light. Shockingly, parents were being defrauded using data extracted from e-challan machines. The traffic constable misused his e-challan machine to obtain the names and mobile numbers of parents based on the vehicle numbers of cars entering the school premises. He then provided this information to the accused. Sheikh used this data to contact parents and lure them with promises of admission. Many people fell for his scheme and lost their money.

Police Department suspends constable:
The school administration filed a complaint with the police, after which a case was registered at the BKC police station. Following the investigation, when Constable Amol Avghade’s involvement became clear, he was suspended from the police department. The main accused, Sheikh, has a history of similar fraud cases.

The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter and are trying to ascertain if other individuals are involved in the racket.
