Aditya Thackeray launched the BMC election campaign in Worli, issuing a direct challenge to the BJP and the Shinde faction. He highlighted Shiv Sena’s 25 years of development work and praised the Mumbai model.

Mumbai: As soon as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections were announced, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader and Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray went into full action mode. On Tuesday, at an event held at the NSCI Dome in Worli, he formally launched his BMC election campaign. Addressing Shiv Sena workers, he highlighted the party’s past achievements. Aaditya Thackeray presented a detailed presentation of the development work undertaken by the Shiv Sena in Mumbai over the past 25 years.

Aaditya targets BJP and Shinde faction
Aaditya openly challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that if the BJP has done any concrete development work for Mumbai, they should present it at the Sardar Patel Stadium Dome in Worli, but they should stop stealing credit for the work done by the Uddhav Thackeray government. Launching a scathing attack on the BJP and the Shinde faction, Aaditya Thackeray said that as soon as elections approach, these people deviate from development issues and raise topics like Hindu-Muslim, Bangladeshi, and Rohingya issues. He said this is because they have no development work to show from their own tenure.

‘Mumbai model was praised by the WHO’
Referring to the COVID-19 period, Aaditya said that the country’s first field hospital was started at the Worli Dome. He said that the Mumbai model was also praised by the World Health Organization (WHO). Aaditya alleged that during the Uddhav Thackeray government’s tenure, financial discipline was maintained without increasing taxes, while under the current BJP-Shinde government, Mumbai has accumulated a debt of over Rs 2.5 lakh crore. Speaking on issues such as education, health, BEST bus service, water supply, environmental protection, Dharavi redevelopment, and the Coastal Road, Aaditya Thackeray said that the current government is only busy with inaugurations and taking credit, while the Shiv Sena has worked at the grassroots level.

Uddhav’s Sena putting in full effort for BMC elections
Aaditya Thackeray emphasized that the Shiv Sena’s struggle to protect Mumbai’s identity and interests will continue. This event is being considered the unofficial launch of the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s BMC election campaign. It is worth noting that the BMC elections have now become the focal point of Maharashtra politics, where the Shiv Sena is putting all its might into preserving its legacy.
