Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that in terms of industrialization of the state, the historic work was either done by current Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, or is now being done by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the concept of structured industrial conclaves in Gujarat. He scientifically and systematically started organizing industrial summits under the name ‘Vibrant Gujarat’. This led to large-scale industrial summits being held in the state capital and attracted significant investment to the state. In Gwalior on Thursday (December 25), Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “The series of conclaves and groundbreaking ceremonies for investments that CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has started in various regions of Madhya Pradesh will prove extremely beneficial for the balanced development of the state in the coming times.” Minister Shah was addressing the ‘Abhyudaya: Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit’ held in Gwalior on the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On this occasion, he inaugurated industrial development projects and road development works worth ₹5,810 crore. He also disbursed investment incentive assistance of ₹725 crore to 860 industrial units with a single click.
Release of Coffee Table Book and Investment Booklet
At the event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also released a coffee table book and an investment booklet based on the industrial development in Madhya Pradesh over the past two years. He also launched the e-Zero FIR system in the state to effectively handle cybercrimes by pressing a button on a remote control. After Delhi, Madhya Pradesh is the second state to implement this. From the stage, he handed over land allotment letters and letters of intent to four investors. On this occasion, 57 construction works worth ₹153.04 crore were inaugurated and groundbreaking ceremonies were held for 13 construction works worth ₹23.79 crore in Gwalior district.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister Amit Shah said, “The investment of Rs 2 lakh crore today may seem small, but for any one sector, it is a huge achievement. This investment is extremely important for the people of that region. If a state does not have balanced development, it cannot progress, because immense potential is hidden in every sector.” He gave the example that in the Malwa, Gwalior, and Chambal regions, cotton has long been the main crop for farmers, but they were not getting a fair price for it. Now, with the arrival of the PM Mitra Park, investment has increased in traditional areas, and cotton has once again become a profitable crop for farmers.
Benefits from Connecting with Every Corner of the Country – Amit Shah
Union Minister Amit Shah said at the event that Madhya Pradesh’s greatest strength is its geographical location. From here, it is possible to supply goods to half of the country at very low transportation costs. However, this geographical advantage can only be fully utilized if symmetrical industries are developed in the state. Industries should be established in the districts connected to the south, industries should be set up in districts connected to Delhi, such as Gwalior, and industrial development should also take place in western regions like Dhar and Jhabua. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that Madhya Pradesh has now become the fastest developing state in the country. Despite being isolated from the global economic fluctuations of the past years and overcoming numerous challenges and resource constraints, the pace at which the state has progressed is inspiring for the entire country. In agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, irrigation, industry, energy, tourism, health reforms, mining, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and a large number of basic infrastructure projects, Madhya Pradesh stands among the leading states today. Union Home Minister Shah said that under the rule of the opposition parties, Madhya Pradesh used to be a BIMARU state (a term used to describe economically backward states). Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan brought the state out of the BIMARU category. Now, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is making Madhya Pradesh a developed state. Development work is underway in Madhya Pradesh for roads and irrigation. There has been a 17 percent increase in the irrigated area. Madhya Pradesh has surpassed Punjab and Haryana and won the Krishi Karman Award seven times in a row. To fully utilize the country’s central and strategic geographical location, a multi-modal logistics park is being developed in Indore.
This is attracting investors and industrialists from India and abroad. Today, Madhya Pradesh has surplus electricity. Madhya Pradesh has also left everyone behind in cleanliness. Metro operations are the cheapest in the country in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh has set a record by registering more than 4.57 lakh new MSME units in a single year. Union Home Minister Shah said that the country’s first PM MITRA Park is based on the Five-F vision, and farmers will benefit the most from it. It will encompass the entire process from farm to fiber, fiber to factory, factory to fashion, and fashion to foreign export. Madhya Pradesh has done remarkable work in ease of doing business. India will soon become a global leader in this area. We will become self-reliant in the semiconductor sector and will also export semiconductors. India has achieved the most significant growth in Digital India. By September 2025, the country will have 125 crore internet connections. India has made a huge leap in the fintech sector through UPI. 50 percent of the world’s total digital transactions have taken place in India.
He further added, “The Government of India has achieved a major milestone in the production of COVID-19 vaccines. Today, 60 percent of the world’s vaccines are manufactured in India. Significant work has also been done in the manufacturing of toys and military equipment. During Prime Minister Modi’s tenure, 1.5 lakh kilometers of new national highways have been built. The country now has 163 airports. There are 164 Vande Bharat trains in the country, and their components will be manufactured in Madhya Pradesh. There are 23 metro-connected cities in the country. Today, 2.14 lakh panchayats in the country are connected by optical fiber. Union Minister Shah urged the youth and investors of Madhya Pradesh to invest in their ventures and industries in the state without hesitation. Madhya Pradesh is so fertile that one can invest a small amount of money and earn crores. The state government has undoubtedly taken innovative initiatives in this direction. Principal Secretary Singh informed that through this program today, 1,118 new industrial units and projects are being launched in the state, with a proposed investment of over ₹2.17 lakh crore. These projects will create more than 1,93,772 employment opportunities, which is a strong step towards inclusive and balanced development. He said that along with this, the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of industrial areas and other important infrastructure projects being developed at a cost of ₹5,010.1 crore were also completed. These include projects worth ₹2,806.7 crore under the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, ₹1,018.1 crore under Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited, ₹910.8 crore under Building Development Corporation, and ₹274.5 crore under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department.
He further informed that to empower large industries and MSME units, investment promotion assistance of over ₹725 crore is also being distributed to 860 units on this occasion, which will give impetus to industries and instill confidence in investors. Singh said that the e-Zero FIR facility is being launched to effectively deal with cyber financial crimes. Along with this, a coffee table book and a ground-breaking ceremony booklet have also been released to provide investors with comprehensive information about the state’s industrial capabilities and available opportunities. The Principal Secretary said that this event sends a strong message towards making Madhya Pradesh a reliable and leading center for industrial investment.

The grand and poignant portrait of Bharat Ratna, former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, displayed on the main stage of the “Madhya Pradesh Abhyudaya Growth Summit” held at the Mela Ground in Gwalior, captivated the hearts of all the guests. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, along with other dignitaries on the stage, paid tribute before this portrait. The restrained color scheme, subtle lines, and the natural compassion and nationalistic spirit depicted on the face compelled the guests to pause and admire the painting. In the portrait, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s gaze seemed to be confidently looking towards the future. It felt as if Atal Ji was conveying a message of development, dialogue, and democratic values. This impressive portrait of the revered Atal Ji was created by Professor Umendra Verma, a renowned painter from the Government College of Fine Arts, Gwalior. This painting was specially commissioned at the request of Gwalior Collector Ruchika Chauhan, so that the inspiration of the late Atal Ji would be vividly present on the summit stage.

On the occasion of the Madhya Pradesh Abhyuday Growth Summit, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presented Union Home Minister Amit Shah with a striking statue of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, made from paddy straw, as a memento. This unique and environmentally conscious artwork was created by the craft company of young entrepreneur Shubham Singh. The statue of Atal Ji, crafted from ordinary agricultural residue like paddy straw, conveyed a message of creativity, environmental protection, and innovation. Meanwhile, at the event, Union Home Minister Shah presented land allocation letters and letters of intent to four investors. These included Amitabh Bakshi, Director of the McCain Group; Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman of LNJ (Bhilwara Group); Ashish Kumar Upadhyay of Green Vent Pvt. Ltd.; and Rajesh Jaiswal, Vice President of Nature’s Bio Foods.
