Breaking News

In the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi gave a strong reply to the opposition’s allegations regarding the President’s address. In his 97-minute speech, he targeted the Congress and the Gandhi family, from the Nehru era to the present day.

The Prime Minister was unable to speak in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday during the discussion on the President’s address, but he spoke at length in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He meticulously responded to the opposition’s accusations, pointing out their mistakes. Although the opposition started creating a ruckus when he began speaking, he did not stop. When the Prime Minister continued speaking non-stop, the opposition staged a walkout. Thus, his speech took place in the absence of the opposition. In the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi spoke fluently for 97 minutes on the President’s address, using words that were particularly stinging to the Congress party. His speech, which lasted more than an hour and a half, contained several recurring keywords, such as Nehru, Indira Gandhi, “digging graves,” infiltration, “Sheesh Mahal” (palace of mirrors), urban Naxals, Operation Sindoor, traitors, obstructing, delaying, misleading, trade deals, and the royal family.

The Prime Minister also responded to Rahul Gandhi without mentioning him by name. While Rahul Gandhi was questioning the government through former Army Chief Manoj Naravane’s book, PM Modi reminded him of a time when there was a shortage of ammunition and even shoes at the borders. When Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of China, PM Modi referred to the speeches of Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

“What kind of shop of love is this?”
While Rahul Gandhi champions the slogan of opening a “shop of love,” the PM said, “Slogans are being raised to dig my grave; what kind of shop of love is this?” Rahul often raises the issue of the Constitution. In the Rajya Sabha, the PM asked why the discussion on the President’s address could not take place in the Lok Sabha. He called it a grave insult to the office of the President and said that those responsible did not have the right to even utter the word “Constitution.”

PM Modi’s speech wasn’t limited to just the Congress party. Along with Congress, he also targeted the TMC, DMK, the Left, and the Aam Aadmi Party, but his main target was the Gandhi family. He criticized the Mamata government on the issue of infiltration in Bengal. He raised questions about the DMK in Tamil Nadu. Using the example of MP Sadanand Master, he mentioned the brutality that occurred during the Left government’s rule in Kerala. He also raised the issue of Assam while mentioning the awarding of the Bharat Ratna to Bhupen Hazarika. Assembly elections are due in all these states in a few months, but his speech focused particularly on the Congress and the Gandhi family. He traced the history from the Nehru era to the present day.

Insulting people is the nature of the Congress
PM Modi said, “For Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, the people of the country were a problem. Insulting the people of the country is the nature of the Congress. Indira Gandhi dismantled the Planning Commission, which was created by her father, Nehru. The Congress betrayed the farmers. They opposed giving the Bharat Ratna to Bhupen Hazarika. Assam will not forget this insult. The cunning prince of the Congress called a Member of Parliament a traitor. This was their anti-Sikh sentiment.”

He said, “Those who claim to be opening a ‘shop of love’ are raising slogans like ‘Modi, your grave will be dug’. They think that the Prime Minister’s post is their family’s inheritance. Stealing is their ancestral business. They stole Mahatma Gandhi’s surname.” The Prime Minister, while enumerating the work done by his government, took potshots at the Gandhi family and the Congress.

Today the country is running on the basis of policy
Two days ago, India struck a deal with the US. The opposition is also asking many questions about this in the budget session. They are alleging a compromise on farmers’ interests. They are claiming that there was pressure behind this deal. PM Modi answered each and every accusation. He said that he had to put in a lot of effort to correct the mistakes of the past. He said, “Today the country is running on the basis of policy, which has built the world’s trust. Today India is fully prepared to compete with the world. Trade deals have been made with the European Union and the US. After the deal with the US, the world’s confidence has increased further.”

Rahul’s post after the PM’s remarks
After the PM’s remarks, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, wrote a post on social media. He said, “So much fear from just questions? Modi ji is so afraid of the truth that he has taken refuge in lies. Well, he did what he thought was appropriate.” Rahul Gandhi’s last line is similar to what is written in General Manoj Naravane’s book. Prime Minister Modi’s reply to the President’s address took place in the absence of the opposition. The opposition had boycotted his speech. Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Leader of the Opposition in both houses was not being allowed to speak. He added that the boycott was due to the government’s failure to answer several questions, including those related to trade deals.

What did Om Birla say?
Meanwhile, Om Birla provided information in the Lok Sabha regarding the Prime Minister’s inability to deliver his speech. He said that he had received information that several members of the Congress party might reach the Prime Minister’s seat and cause an unexpected incident. If this incident had occurred, it would have shattered democratic traditions. To avert the incident, I requested the Prime Minister not to come to the House. By not being present and by accepting my request, the Leader of the House saved the House from an unpleasant scene.

He also questioned the conduct of the opposition members in the Speaker’s office regarding the Nishikant Dubey issue. Om Birla said that the behavior of the opposition members in the office was like a black mark. In other words, according to the Speaker, he got wind of the opposition’s plan and thwarted it in time.

Priyanka Gandhi’s response
Priyanka Gandhi responded to this issue. She said that the accusation is baseless and false. No one tried to harm the Prime Minister. TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha said that he does not agree with the Speaker’s statement. Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq said that it is just an attempt to divert attention.
