An independent and impartial investigation should be conducted by CBI or SIT under the supervision of the Supreme Court. As per Manipur case, investigation should be conducted by a committee of 3 judges. Calcutta High Court took suo motu cognizance of the case
The Calcutta High Court had taken suo motu cognizance of the Sandeshkhali case and the court appointed a lawyer as amicus curiae and issued notices to the state government, police and district administration. The court will hear this matter again on February 20.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, CM Mamata Banerjee blamed ED and BJP for the violence and uproar in Sandeshkhali. Mamta Banerjee said that there is a conspiracy of BJP and ED behind the violence in Sandeshkhali. He said that BJP has made Sandeshkhali a riot spot as part of a conspiracy. Police have arrested 17 accused in this case.
