West Bengal: Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava filed a PIL in the Supreme Court in the case of atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district.

Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court on Thursday in the case of atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. He demanded that the investigation (and subsequent trials) be transferred to a state outside West Bengal. An independent and impartial investigation should be conducted by CBI or SIT under the supervision of the Supreme Court. As per Manipur case, investigation should be conducted by a committee of 3 judges. In the PIL filed, a request has been made for compensation to the victims and disciplinary action against the guilty policemen.

The petition states that the helpless victims of Sandeshkhali deserve justice. Let us tell you that Alakh is Advocate on Record (AOR) in the Supreme Court. Alakh will try to mention this petition before the CJI bench tomorrow.

Allegations of atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali

ED officials were injured in that attack. After about one and a half month, the women of Sandeshkhali demonstrated against Shahjahan Sheikh and his supporters and set fire to their houses.

Meanwhile, a video had surfaced on Sunday – the authenticity of which RB NEWS does not confirm – in which a woman can be heard saying that many housewives are forced to live in the houses of TMC workers and leaders for weeks or months. it was done. The women had alleged sexual harassment and forcible occupation of tribal land.

Calcutta High Court took suo motu cognizance of the case
The Calcutta High Court had taken suo motu cognizance of the Sandeshkhali case and the court appointed a lawyer as amicus curiae and issued notices to the state government, police and district administration. The court will hear this matter again on February 20.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, CM Mamata Banerjee blamed ED and BJP for the violence and uproar in Sandeshkhali. Mamta Banerjee said that there is a conspiracy of BJP and ED behind the violence in Sandeshkhali. He said that BJP has made Sandeshkhali a riot spot as part of a conspiracy. Police have arrested 17 accused in this case.
