Bharat Bandh on February 12: The Indian working class is preparing for a nationwide general strike on Thursday (February 12, 2026), supported by unions representing agricultural, rural, and informal workers. The strike is jointly organized by fourteen national trade unions, including employees of the central and state civil services and teachers, labor groups from central and state public sector undertakings, and independent trade unions.

The farmers’ organization, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), on Wednesday called on farmers to support the all-India general strike on Thursday. The trade unions have called this strike to demand the repeal of the four labor codes, the Electricity Bill 2025, the Seeds Bill 2025, and the Animal Husbandry and Animal Husbandry Act 2025.
