Telangana: Tension erupted between people of two communities in Banswada town of Kamareddy district on Friday evening after a fight broke out over a song being played at a local store.

A case has been registered following an incident that occurred on Friday in Banswara town, Kamareddy district, Telangana. Tensions erupted between members of two communities on Friday evening in Banswara town, Kamareddy district, following a dispute over music being played at a local store.

Argument over listening to religious music
Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a woman working at a Reliance Mart outlet in Banswara was listening to devotional songs when a man approached her and asked why she wasn’t playing other songs. The man also recorded a video during the conversation.

Heated altercation with staff
According to police, a visitor to the store objected to the religious music being played and began filming. This led to a heated argument with staff. The argument escalated, leading to scuffles, stone-throwing, and chaos in the area.

Police resorted to lathi-charge
Based on the woman’s complaint, a case was registered at the Banswara Town police station. To control the situation, police resorted to a mild lathi charge and dispersed the crowd. Police stated that the situation is now under control.

Police filed an FIR against several individuals.
Upon receiving information, District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Chandra, IPS, arrived at the scene and spoke with representatives of both groups. Kamareddy police assured that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible, as per the law. After filing the FIR, the police appealed to the public to maintain peace and refrain from spreading rumors.
