Mumbai: A young man who came to the city of dreams, Mumbai, with the dream of wearing the khaki uniform, had his life cut short. A 30-year-old candidate died suddenly while taking the physical test during the Railway Police recruitment process being conducted in the Ghatkopar area. The incident occurred on Monday morning.
Had Failed Twice
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Akshay Misal, a resident of Buldhana district in Maharashtra. He wanted to join the Railway Police Force. After failing twice, Akshay Misal had applied for the recruitment drive for the third time this year and had come to Mumbai to take the physical test.
According to police officials, field trials were underway at the Railway Police Ground in Ghatkopar on Monday morning. After completing the 1,600-meter race at around 10 a.m., Akshay sat down on the side of the field. Shortly after, he felt dizzy and collapsed.
Declared Dead at Hospital
Officers and medical teams present at the ground immediately rushed Akshay to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital. However, despite the best efforts of doctors, his life could not be saved and he was declared dead during treatment.
Upon receiving the information, officers from the Pant Nagar police station arrived at the scene and registered a case of accidental death. Police stated that preliminary investigations do not suspect any foul play. Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after receiving the post-mortem report.
