Water bill is the biggest issue
Atishi, Education Minister in Delhi Government, said that the biggest issue for the people of Delhi today is the increased water bills. Today a common family is facing bills ranging from Rs 40 thousand to Rs 1.5 lakh. Delhi government decided to bring a one time settlement scheme to provide relief to the people but Bharatiya Janata Party has hatched a conspiracy and stopped this scheme.
Atishi further said that today BJP and LG have control over the bureaucracy. We also told LG that people are worried but till now the officers have refused to implement this scheme. There was anger against this in the assembly. Atishi further said that I want to tell BJP that like in the Assembly, anger will also be seen on the streets.
Chief Minister also raised the issue of water bill in the House
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also raised the issue of non-implementation of water bill settlement scheme in Delhi Assembly. Arvind Kejriwal had said that there are approximately 27 lakh water consumers in Delhi Jal Board. Out of which 10.5 lakh people complain that their water bills were wrong. During the Corona period, meter reading was not taken properly, which is 40 percent of the total consumers, in such a situation people had stopped paying water bills. Due to which the revenue of Delhi Jal Board was blocked.
Kejriwal targeted BJP
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had alleged that in order to provide relief to the consumers and to revive the revenue of the Jal Board, the Delhi Government’s Cabinet approved the One Time Settlement Scheme, but on the instigation of the BJP ruled Central Government and the LG, the officers canceled the scheme.
