The central government on Wednesday declared Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir (Sumji faction) and Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir (Bhat faction) illegal for their anti-India and pro-Pakistan propaganda. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Narendra Modi’s government is committed to root out terrorism and anyone involved in illegal activities will have to face serious consequences. ,
Amit Shah tweeted that while attacking the terrorist network without any strictness, the government has declared Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir (Sumji faction) and Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir (Bhat faction) as illegal associations. These organizations have been engaged in activities against the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
Punishment for supporting terrorist organizations
In a notification, the Union Home Ministry said the Sumji faction, headed by Ghulam Nabi Sumji, has been involved in supporting terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and providing logistics support to terrorism. If the government does not immediately control the illegal activities of the group, it will continue its anti-national activities which are detrimental to the territorial integrity, security and sovereignty of the country.
Central government banned these two organizations
In a similar notification, Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir (Bhat faction) headed by Abdul Ghani Bhat was outlawed for being involved in raising funds through various sources including Pakistan and its proxy organisations, including “terrorist “Carrying out illegal activities, including supporting activities”. There is continuous stone pelting on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
