President Draupadi Murmu will go to Mauritius on a 3-day foreign visit. His tour will start from March 11 (Monday). She will be on a three-day state visit to Mauritius to attend the National Day celebrations of the island nation as the chief guest. During this time, a naval contingent along with two Indian warships – INS Tir and CGS Sarathi – will also participate in the ceremony. Announcing the visit, the Ministry of External Affairs said that President Murmu will hold bilateral meetings with his Mauritian counterpart Prithviraj Singh Roopun and Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, President Murmu will also meet the Speaker of the Mauritius National Assembly, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and many important leaders of the country. “President of India Draupadi Murmu will visit the island nation from March 11 to 13 to attend the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the chief guest on March 12,” the Ministry of External Affairs said. A naval contingent along with two of its warships will participate in the ceremony. The contingent comprises the Indian Navy’s first training squadron, INS Tir and CGS Sarathi.

President to inaugurate 14 projects aided by India in Mauritius
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Murmu and Jagannath will jointly inaugurate 14 Indian aid projects. These projects will showcase the breadth and multidimensional nature of New Delhi’s development partnership with Mauritius, a ‘key pillar’ of the bilateral relationship. The Ministry of External Affairs said that President Murmu will also witness the exchange of important bilateral agreements, efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and capacity building cooperation between the two countries. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Murmu is the sixth Indian President to attend the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the chief guest since 2000. This visit of the President underlines the long-term and enduring relations between India and Mauritius.
