Big news of attack on foreign students has come to light in Gujarat University. Some rioting elements attacked foreign students from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in the A Block campus of the university. It is being claimed that these students were attacked for offering Namaz. This attack was carried out when the students were offering Namaz.
After this incident which happened late at night, an atmosphere of panic was seen in the university campus. Attacking students with sticks and vandalizing vehicles, all this has been captured in the cameras installed in the university campus. On receiving information about the incident, leaders including MLA Imran Khedawala, former MLA Gyasuddin Shaikh reached the spot. The injured students have been admitted to SVP Hospital for treatment.
The police have started investigating the entire matter. State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has also ordered immediate action on this. The Police Commissioner had a meeting with Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi in this matter.
Former MLA Gyasuddin Shaikh has raised questions on the functioning of the police. Gyasuddin Sheikh said that when the students were attacked, the police certainly came, but why did they not take any action? The police were covering the accused. Gyasuddin has demanded suspension of the police personnel who were negligent in duty.
According to the information, these students were offering Namaz in the hostel college premises. Angered by this, some students protested against this, after which the matter reached a scuffle. Foreign students claim that some people from outside suddenly entered their hostel building and started arguing with them. He was told that offering Namaz was not allowed in the hostel. On this a dispute arose between the two groups and then fighting started.
The victimized students said that their rooms were vandalized. Laptops, mobile phones and mirrors were also broken. He claimed that by the time the police reached the spot, the attackers had fled. The video of attack on foreign students has also gone viral on social media. The video shows that at least five vehicles have been damaged.
‘An attacker has been identified’
After the attack on foreign students by unknown assailants in Gujarat University, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik said, “Around 300 foreign students study in the university. Most of the students are from Africa, some are also from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and other countries. About 75 foreign students live in A block. Where the students were offering Namaz at around 10:30 in the night. Then 20 to 25 people came there. He said why are you offering Namaz here, Namaz should be offered in the mosque. They had some debate on this. Then people from outside threw stones and vandalized the rooms. The police has taken immediate action. We have registered an FIR against 20-25 people. Action will be taken against those who are involved in the case. One attacker has been identified and the rest will also be identified. Law and order situation is under control… 2 people injured in the incident are in the hospital. One student is from Sri Lanka and one from Tajikistan.”

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has also shared a video post on social media X regarding the incident. In the post he has also tagged PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
In connection with the late night vandalism in Gujarat University, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik and Joint Commissioner of Crime Branch Neeraj Badgurjar had reached the university hostel. Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik had said that a meeting was held with Gujarat Government Home Minister Har Sanghvi and senior police officials regarding this matter and the Home Minister has given instructions that concrete action should be taken in this matter. No one should be spared.
Police will hold press conference in the country
A criminal has been identified in this case by Ahmedabad Police and he has also been taken into custody. By evening more accused will be detained in this case and late in the evening a press conference will also be held by the police in this case. Ahmedabad Police is closely investigating this matter and has started the process of detaining the criminals by forming two separate teams.
